Your Body is A Temple.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

Now that we have read what God has to say about our bodies, we have a choice to make. I hope you make the choice to be intentional with your body. So how do you move from good intentions to good actions? By knowing and understanding God’s purpose for us to lead healthy lives.

We must understand that that means we are priceless. There is nothing and no one like me. Open your camera app and look at yourself. Say, “As the rare gem that I am, I have to take myself God’s way for God”.  Practicing nutritional eating and maintaining a balanced diet not only develops and sustains a sharp mind and spirit, it is better prepared to be a vessel of the Gospel. That is our calling and commission. We cannot reach others if we are in a hospital suffering from food related diseases. What better way to show our love for God and serve others by treating ourselves with nothing but the best.

Think about it, if your kids ask you for something, wouldn’t you want to make sure they have nothing but the best that you can offer? It’s the same way with nutrition. When your body signals that it’s hungry or thirsty, give it the best that you can offer it. This is not to demand perfection every time but intentional decision making. You don’t decide at the moment that your kid asks for something that they are worth the best, you already have that in your mind. God does the same for us, so as followers we are to do the same for ourselves.
