Commit Everything to Him

Hey, you. Yes, you! God shared something with me and I hope it resonates with you too. He says, “Commit everything and everyone to him.” He said that to me as I noticed anxiety rising within me over my plans and my relationships. See, I never noticed it, but perfectionism likes to follow me wherever I go. It’s on the hunt, looking for my priorities and relationships, seeking to destroy their goodness by making me feel like it has to be perfect. That is a trap. Nothing and no one will ever be perfect. I will never be perfectly healthy and whole on my own. I will never be perfect and whole without God. God is the only one holy and blameless. The goal is not to attain perfection, but to be found right in the sight of God. If I commit all things to Him, he promises to establish my thoughts — making my plans succeed. Whenever I feel anxiety from the need to be perfect, I can only wonder if I committed my plans to God. Only then am I able to release self-approval and know that God is pleased simply with my commitment and obedience to his word.
