Thank You God for How You Made Me
“God, I invite you into every area of my health — mentally, emotionally and physically, right now. God, I don’t want to wait until I’m overwhelmed or sick before I invite you into this. I want to stay in step with your truth and your peace. God, thank you first for how you made me. Thank you God for my height, thank you for the scars from falling off of bikes and scooters, thank you God for the stretch marks, all the things that culture may deem as defects or blemishes. Thank you God that the way you made is good and you are proud to call me your beautiful creation. God forgive me for those times I’ve looked in the mirror and been critical of what I saw. Forgive me for looking at others and desiring to look like them. I choose to praise you because you made me and you don’t make mistakes. Abba, invite you to rewrite unhealthy thought patterns about my body image. I invite you to guide me in making the best decisions for my health based on what I need and not what others say I should do. Teach me discipline and devotion and remind me to rest in grace when I fall. Tell me what to eat, what not to eat, who to listen to, who not to listen, what to believe and what not to believe, all for your name’s sake. Thank you for walking with beside me, behind and in front of me through all of this. You are amazing Father and I give you all the glory, in Jesus name, Amen.”
